Apps Butler

Apps Butler, installed through the Google Talk client, broadcasts company wide announcements and delivers company directory information on demand via chat.

As an administrator (or delegated administrator), you can broadcast company announcements to everyone who has accepted the Apps Butler invitation.

You can also use our helpful shortcut commands to perform actions from within Google Chat, such as /suspend or /resetpassword [userid] [password]. You can also set up quick links for all of your end users to access.

End users can access directory information (including shared contacts) through their chat client, and also access quick links by using the /links command, if an administrator has already set these up.

Apps Butler FAQs

Is there any easy way for my users to look up shared contact information in Google Apps?

Yes, when you give your end-users access to FlashPanel, they will be able to view all Shared Contacts in your Global Address List. When you active the Mobile Sync feature, FlashPanel will automatically copy all of these shared contacts into your users’ My Contacts folders, so that they will be available in Gmail and on mobile devices.

Can I send messages to my entire company through Google Talk?

Yes, you can! Once you activate Apps Butler, you can start inviting employees to use Apps Butler. Super administrators, and any delegated administrators that you have given access to through Access Control, will be able to send messages to all Apps Butler users (who have accepted the invite) through Google Talk.

How can I view members of a particular Google Group in Google Apps?

Find Apps Butler in your Google Talk buddy list, and just type in the name of the group you want information on. FlashPanel will return information about the group, including a list of members. Administrators can configure which fields are returned in these queries.
